On August 26, 2008, the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) veterinarian stated that these collars are well tolerated by cats and it is unusual to see problems because of the low concentration of Propoxur. The animal's signs are not consistent with the use of the collar. If the product were to cause the signs, one would expect to see the onset of the signs within a few hours of application. The APSS veterinarian recommended the owner have the animal necropsied.
