1-16252295: The reporter caller on 6/9/08 to report she had applied a topical flea and tick product containing the active ingredient Methoprene to her two cats 10 minutes previously. According to the reporter, one of her cats had started to pant. She thought the cat may have groomed the second cat and gotten some product in its mouth. The safety profile of the product was discussed. A recommendation was made to offer water, tuna juice water, cat food or cat treats to try and help the cat get rid of the taste of the product. A further recommendation was made to bathe the cat in hand dish washing detergent if the symptoms continued, and to seek veterinary care. No additional information is available.
