1-16110679: The reporter called on 5/6/08 to report the application of a topical flea and tick product containing the active ingredient Methoprene to their 9 month old cat 2 hours previously. The reporter stated the cat had thrown up 3 times after licking the application site. The safety profile of the product was discussed, including the fact that transient GI upset could have resulted from an ingestion of a minor amount of the product. A recommendation was made to replace fluids as needed and to seek veterinary care if the symptoms persisted or worsened. A follow-up call was placed but never returned.
