1-16241619: The reporter called on 6/5/08 to report she had applied a topical flea and tick product containing the active ingredient Methoprene to her 2 cats the morning of the call. According to the reporter, by the time of the call one of the cats had started to vocalize, had developed mydriasis, and seemed slightly tachypneic. She speculated that one cat may have ingested some product through licking it off the other cat. The safety profile of the product was discussed. A recommendation was made to bathe both cats in non-medicated shampoo, and to seek veterinary care if the symptoms persisted or worsened. A follow-up call was placed but was never returned.
