1-16141741: The reporter called on 5/14/08 to report she had applied a topical flea and tick product containing the active ingredient Methoprene to her cat on 5/12/08. According to the reporter, within 2 hours after application the cat had become agitated, and had started shaking and hissing. The reporter had called her veterinarian, who had advised her to bathe the cat and give it Benadryl liquid. The cat's symptoms had resolved within 3 hours of application. During the 5/14 call, the safety profile of the product was discussed.
