(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms
1-16091886: The reporter, a veterinarian, called on 5/1/08 to report a Border Collie had presented to his clinic with tremors after ingesting an unknown amount of treated canola seed. The seed had been treated with a mixture of 3 fungicides and a neonicotinoid insecticide (Thiamethoxam, Difenoconazole, Metalaxyl-M, Fludioxonil ). The reporter had thought the dog had been exposed to an organophosphate and had already given activated charcoal and Atropine. The reporter was looking for treatment recommendations. The ingredients and safety profile of the product was discussed. As the product is not considered neurotoxic, a recommendation was made to look for other causes of the dog's symptoms and to provide supportive care (fluids, muscle relaxants, monitor temperature). It was further recommended to take an x-ray to get an idea of the quantity of product ingested. The MSDS was faxed to the reporter/veterinarian. Information regarding the signalment of the dog (age, weight, sex) was never revealed during the conversation.
