1-16037112: The caller reported on 4/18/08 that his 4 lb male puppy (unknown age) had ingested about 1 teaspoon of a treated canola seed product approximately 1 hour previously. The canola seed had been treated with a mixture of the following active ingredients: Thiamethoxam, Difenoconazole, Metalaxyl-M, and Fludioxonil. The caller had already given the puppy 30 cc of hydrogen peroxide to induce emesis and he had already vomited 3 times. The safety profile of the product was discussed, as was the fact that induction of emesis would not have been necessary given the low level of toxicity of the product. The caller was instructed what symptoms to watch for but was told it would be unlikely for any to develop with such a small amount ingested. A follow-up call on 4/21/08 revealed the puppy had recovered and had been only a little lethargic for a few hours afterwards.
