On February 7, 2008, the owner sprayed the product in a room of her home. On February 8, 2008, the owner took the animal to the local veterinary clinic. The attending veterinarian administered Diazepam to the animal and provided symptomatic and supportive care. The animal died two hours after symptoms began. On February 12, 2008, the APSS veterinarian stated that the signs the animal was displaying and the time frame of the exposure are poorly compatible with a reaction to the product.

The APSS veterinarian doubted that this substance was related to causing the clinical situation. A necropsy was not an option since the animal's body was frozen for days.
