3/17/2008 Caller reports using the product daily for several weeks. Caller applied product to hands and then used hands to apply product to the face. Caller did not wash the product off at night. Approximately one week after beginning use, caller developed coughing. Caller was evaluated by doctor, and was diagnosed with sinusitis and prescribed an antibiotic. Caller has finished the antibiotic and has had no improvement of symptoms. 3/31/2008 Callback placed to caller for follow up information. Consumer did not wish to discuss the matter further and hung up.

The information contained in this report is based on self-reported statements provided to the registrant during telephone Interview(s). These self-reported descriptions of an incident have not been independently verified to be factually correct or complete descriptions of the incident. For that reason, information contained in this report does not and can not form the basis for a determination of whether the reported clinical effects are causally related to exposure to the product identified in the telephone interviews. Delayed onset of respiratory symptoms is not suggestive of any complications related to a DEET containing insect repellent based on the weight of peer reviewed published scientific information on DEET containing insect repellents. Furthermore, an alternative cause for this illness completely unrelated to the use of this product was found by a physician who diagnosed this patient with an infection and treated with antibiotics.
