On October 4, 2007 the APSS toxicologist stated that permethrin exposure can lead to tremors and/or seizures in cats. Usually signs are seen within 24-48 hours post exposure. Since the cat appeared to be only mildly effected at three days post exposure, the owner was advised to bathe the animal with liquid dish washing soap and monitor the cat at home for worsening signs.
