On August 9, 2007 the owner found the animal dead. APSS veterinarian stated dermal hypersensitivity reaction might be expected.

The animal had been seen by a veterinarian on August 9, 2007 for an exam and vaccinations. At that time the attending veterinarian said the animal was infested with fleas. According to the owner the attending veterinarian later stated the flea infestation contributed to the animals death. The APSS veterinarian stated that the said product is not likely related to causing the situation. The APSS veterinarian recommended that a necropsy be performed but the animal had already been buried.
