Syngenta Crop Protection Canada Inc. would like to inform the PMRA of the results from this study evaluating the effects of a lambda cyhalothrin formulation on a non-target arthropod species. This study was conducted in Europe to satisfy European registration requirements. Syngenta conducted a rate response extended laboratory bioassay on the effects of fresh residues of lambda cyhalothrin on the predatory mite Typhlodromus pyri (Acari: Phystoseiidae) in order to satisfy European registration requirements. In this study, the LR50 for T. pyri was determined to be 0.0243 g ai/ha which is lower than the previous value of 0.2 g ai/ha. The lambda cyhalothrin formulation used in this study is not registered for use in Canada.
