On 17 Sep 2021, an animal owner contacted to Elanco to report potential adverse event involving Seresto large Dog.On 23-Aug-2021, a 13 year old, 30 pound, male, Coton De Tulear dog, of unknown reproductive status, in unknown condition, with no known concomitant medical conditions, was administered 1 collar of Seresto Large Dog (Flumethrin-Imidacloprid) via the topical route by the animal owner.

On 17 Sep 2021, an animal owner contacted to ELanco to report potential adverse event involving Seresto large Dog. On 23-Aug-2021, a 13 year old, 30 pound, male, Coton De Tular dog, of unknown reproductive status, in unknown condition, with no known concomitant medical conditions, was administered 1 collar of Seresto Large Dog (Flumethrin-Imidacloprid) via the topical route by the animal owner. On approximately 25Aug2021 the dog developed a decreased appetite, lethargy, and multiple episodes of emesis. On approximately 29Aug2021, the emesis stopped. On approximately 31Aug2021, the emesis returned, and the dog developed dark colored urine. The dog developed complete anorexia and decreased water intake. On approximately 05Sep2021, the dog urinated on the floor. On approximately 10Sep2021 the owner tested the urine at home with a urine reagent strip and it showed high protein and a high pH. On 15Sep2021, the collar was removed and live fleas were found under the collar. The owner noticed application site scabs. The dog was bathed at the groomer with an unspecified shampoo, and when his hair was cut short, it was visualized that the skin, eyes, and ears were icteric. The dog has lost an unspecified amount of weight and is emaciated. On 17-Sep-2021, the dog developed non-productive retching. The dog was not examined by the veterinarian, no treatments were performed, and the clinical signs continued. Follow Up 17Sep2021 Owner is contacting us because she went to the vet and mentioned the vet giving us a call but he declined calling us. Treatments performed was fluids SQ, blood work, and exam. No further information is expected. This case is closed. Update 20Sep2021: On 17Sep2021 the dog exhibited elevated BUN and elevated creatine, elevated magnesium and phosphorus, elevated platelets, elevated neutrophils, elevated sodium and potassium ratio, elevated precision PSL value (coded other abnormal test result NOS), low T4, On 20 Sep 2021 the dog was euthanized. No further information is expected. This case is closed. No necropsy performed. Update 28 Sep 2021 On 23-Aug-2021, Animal exhibited behavioral change and on 25-Aug-2021 stopped eating No further information is expected. This case is closed.
