O - Unclassifiable/unassessable Diarrhoea is not expected with appropriate topical product use. No oral product exposure witnessed and no signs indicating product uptake such as salivation or vomiting seen. Lethargy is an unspecific sign and may be associated with reported diarrhea. Additionally reported ataxia is not expected with appropriate topical product use. However, considering consistent time to onset, a connection with accidentally ingested product cannot be ruled out entirely. Alopecia on other than the application site is not anticipated with topical product administration. If any, skin reactions would be localized at the application site. Weight loss is not expected either after topical product use. Other causes are more probable. Time to onset is short. Further, behaviour of not walking is unspecific sign. Furthermore, death is inconsistent with pharmaco-toxicological product profile and experience. Product has wide margin of safety. Oral LD50 in rat is 642 mg/kg BW. 24-fold overdosage tolerated by cats without showing any side effect. In this case, the previous exposure was well tolerated by the animal. The cat may have died of old age (16 years). Time to onset is long. Considering low level of information (e.g. animal health status, no necropsy report), a product involvement for the case is unassessable.
