(p.ex. description des symptômes tels que la fréquence et la gravité
On June 18, 2018, the dog developed symptoms. On June 25, 2018, the dog's symptoms had resolved. The owner applied the product again on July 15, 2018 and on July 18, 2018, the dog had developed the same symptoms as before. On July 27, 2018, the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS). The APSS assistant stated that imidacloprid is an insecticide that has a low toxicity to mammals. The APSS assistant also stated that dermal exposure may cause a hypersensitivity reaction (redness, pruritus, alopecia). The APSS assistant recommended the owner discontinue product use (speak with a veterinarian (DVM) about another product), monitor at home (for continued/worse signs), take the dog to a veterinarian (if signs continue), and to call back with questions.
Mineure
The APSS assistant stated that the substance was not considered to be related to causing the clinical situation. A few hours later, the regular veterinarian called to discuss the case and stated that the dog had a slight black pigmented area on the ventrum.
