The reporter stated that she purchased a Tomcat Rat Bait Station (UPC 8860303640) at Canadian Tire on July 19, 2018. The box was mostly red and white with some green and blue. A poison warning on the label said "child and dog resistant bait station". When she got home and opened it to remove it from the box, she found the front of the station coated with bright blue-green poison and the bottom of the box scattered with granules of the poison also.

When the reporter opened the box containing the bait station, she found the front of the station coated with bright blue-green poison and the bottom of the box scattered with granules of poison also.

The reporter was concerned that granules of the poison could have easily made it onto a shelf where a small child might rub their hand and be accidentally exposed. The reporter stated the following: The label makes it clear that this is skin absobable. There is no warning to handle the station with gloves on first use because it's expected that there will be no contamination when it is new.
