On November 2, 2016 the kitten vomited once after the product was applied. On November 6, 2016 the kitten developed discolored urine and lethargy. The APSS veterinarian stated, may see a dermal reaction; with overuse, alcohol toxicity. The APSS technician recommended taking the kitten to the veterinarian, having the veterinarian call for information, and calling back with questions. The caller had found the kitten three weeks ago, and was unable to estimate age, kitten weighed two pounds.

The APSS veterinarian stated that the substance was considered to have a doubtful likelihood of causing the clinical situation. Later on November 6, 2016 the owner called the APSS and stated that the kitten had died before she could get her into the veterinary clinic to be evaluated. The APSS assistant offered the owner to be transferred to an APSS veterinarian, but the owner declined and just wanted to report the case. A necropsy is not possible due to off-label use (pet was likely under 12 weeks of age).
