On an unknown date in 2016, the dog had renal failure. On an unknown date in 2016, the dog died. It is unknown if the dog had been examined by a veterinarian. No known necropsy was performed. Due to the sensitive nature of the communication, specific relevant event details were not obtained, nor will such be sought. The reason for the initial call was to discuss the use of Seresto collar and her other animals not to report the death of the patient. No further information is expected. This case is closed. note: Previous exposure was well tolerated by animal.

Classification selon la gravité (s'il y a plus d'une catégorie possible, veuillez choisir la plus grave)

19. Donner des renseignements additionnels ici
Renal failure and death are not expected as inconsistent with pharmaco-toxicological product profile. Various other causes are more likely. Product has wide margin of safety. Oral LD50 in rat 642 mg/kg BW. 20-fold over dosage tolerated by dogs without showing any side effect. Animal involved in this case was geriatric, which may have further contributed to death of the animal. Death was probably a consequence of renal failure. Previous exposure was well
tolerated by animal. Moreover, the reason for the initial call was to discuss the use of Seresto collar and her other animals not to report the death of the patient. Even though some information is not available (animal details, health status, time to onset and necropsy report) sufficient information exists to ruled out product relation completely. Finally, a product relation is considered as unlikely.
