1-45017929 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated her cat was exposed to an insecticidal shampoo containing the active ingredients piperonyl butoxide, pyrethrins, and n-octyl bicycloheptene dicarboximide. On an unknown date before initial contact with the registrant, the reporter bathed her 3-year-old, 8-pound, female, Domestic Shorthair cat with the product. During the bath, the reporter indicated the cat cried out then developed tachypnea and her mouth and tongue turned white. The reporter rinsed the cat well and wrapped her in a towel, but she died soon afterwards. The reporter was offered condolences and told that this is not an expected reaction to the product. A necropsy was offered, but the cat was already buried. No additional information is available.
