1-43989589 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that his dog was exposed to a weed preventer containing the active ingredient corn gluten meal. The reporter stated his 70-pound, 8-year-old female Labrador Retriever dog started having diarrhea, scratching,and runny eyes after being on the lawn one day before initial contact with the registrant. The reporter indicated that the product had been applied to his lawn one day prior to initial contact with the registrant and that the dog did ingest some of the product. On follow-up 13 days after initial contact with the registrant, the reporter indicated that he had gone to the veterinarian to get treatment for the dog. The reporter was advised that the product has a wide margin of safety but with ingestion transient gastrointestinal irritation is possible and medical attention should be sought if symptoms dont resolve. The reporter was encouraged to continue working with his veterinarian. No additional follow-up was attempted. No additional information is available.

1-43989589 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that his cat was exposed to a weed preventer containing the active ingredient corn gluten meal. The reporter stated his 3-year-old, male, Domestic Longhair cat of unknown weight was found dead after the cat chewed a hole in the product bag and ate an unknown amount of the product on an unknown date. The caller found the cat dead eighteen days after initial contact with the registrant. Caller was advised to work with his veterinarian to find a cause of death for the pet as the product is not anticipated to cause sudden death. The registrant offered condolences for the pets death. No follow-up was attempted. No additional information is available.
