On an unknown date post application, in 2012, the dog was examined by a veterinarian and diagnosed with a heart murmur and collapsing trachea. The owner continued to apply K9 Advantix II Large Dog (Imidacloprid-Permethrin-Pyriproxyfen) monthly with the last dose on 15 Feb 2015. On 15 Mar 2015, the dog was examined by a veterinarian and hospitalized. The dog passed away in the hospital that day. No known necropsy was performed. No more information expected. This case is closed. Note1: previous applications were well tolerated. Note2: The intent of this call was not to report this event but to inquire about the use of the product on another dog.

Classification selon la gravité (s'il y a plus d'une catégorie possible, veuillez choisir la plus grave)
Mort
19. Donner des renseignements additionnels ici
Reported heart murmur, collapsing trachea and death are not expected as inconsistent with pharmaco-toxicological profile of the product. Death likely caused due to underlying heart condition. Moreover previous applications were well tolerated. Hence other causes are more probable in this elderly dog. Lack of information (e.g. time to onset unknown) and rather long time for reporting as the intent of this call was not to report this event but to inquire about the use of the product on another dog. Considering all aspects, a product connection is deemed to be unlikely.
