Exposure happened about 45 min ago. Owner had sprayed this in the house. About 20 min later the dog walked into the area and the owner believes that he could have inhaled some of the product. Dog has vomited once. The animal owner was advised that because the amount was somewhat consistent, the patient was considered to be at medium risk of developing clinical signs. If signs develop, there is low risk that those signs will be life-threatening. Permethrin, when inhaled or ingested, can cause sneezing, coughing, and a tingling in the throat. This could lead to hypersalivation and vomiting, but systemic risks are not expected.
