(p.ex. description des symptômes tels que la fréquence et la gravité
On October 22, 2015 the cat developed a behavior change (wouldn't move from where he was laying). On October 23, 2015 the cat's behavior change became moderate and the cat developed lethargy and anorexia. On October 25, 2015 the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS). The APSS veterinarian stated if animals are heavily saturated, there can be risks for central nervous system (CNS) depression and ataxia. The APSS veterinarian also stated if ingested, there can be signs of hypersalivation and nausea. The APSS veterinarian further stated some animals may have mild dermal hyperesthesia from the active ingredients, or agitation as the fleas are dying. The APSS veterinarian additionally stated she would not expect signs to persist this long if it was related to the alcohol carriers. The APSS veterinarian finally stated it's possible that the cat could have flea bite anemia and depression from that. The APSS technician recommended bathing the cat (with liquid dish washing detergent (LDWD)), taking the cat to the veterinarian, and having the veterinarian call for information.
Mort
The APSS veterinarian stated that the substance was considered to have a doubtful likelihood of causing the clinical situation. On October 28, 2015 an APSS technican called the owner to follow up on the case. The owner stated on October 25, 2015 the cat developed moribund (pet was breathing only a few times per minute, stiff, cold to the touch, and was not blinking before the owner went to bed) and on October 26, 2015 the owner had found the cat dead. The owner also stated the cat was not bathed nor was veterinary care sought. A necropsy was not available.
