Note from LDSM: The owner initially contacted Bayer Animal Health to seek advice on an existing tick problem and not to report the death of this pet. Death is not expected in a dog after product application, as it is inconsistent with the pharmaco-toxicological product profile. Low level of information e.g., animal data, product details, treatment start-date, time to onset of death and necropsy are not available as the intent of the phone call to Bayer Animal Health was to seek advice on an existing tick problem and not to report the death of this pet. No signs of allergy/anaphylactic reaction reported. Even though time to onset of death is unknown, occurrence of sign within window of allergic/anaphylactic reaction (within 1 day) is unlikely, as would have been reported in close proximity. Other etiologies are more probable. Considering overall aspects, a product connection is deemed to be unlikely.
