Suspected adverse reaction: On 23 Jun 2014, an owner reported (to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)) a suspected adverse reaction in his puppy dosed with Activyl Tick Plus for Dogs and Puppies (over 4 lb and up to 11 lb) obtained from a veterinary hospital. On 22 Jun 2014 at approximately 6:30 PM, the owner applied Activyl Tick Plus to his 7.5 week old puppy (extra label use, 8 week age limit) in an unknown location. Approximately 5.5 hours later, the puppy rolled off the couch and had a seizure that lasted approximately one minute. He lost his bowels and his mouth was moving like he was trying to bite (coded as neuromuscular disorder). The pup had been vaccinated (unknown brand) on 20 Jun 2014. His litter mate was also dosed and had no issues. The ASPCA instructed the owner to bathe the puppy. Further information expected (follow up from owner, veterinary contact information was not provided). 25 Jun 2014 Follow up: The owner reported to the ASPCA that on 25 Jun 2014, she euthanized the puppy and buried it. No further information expected.
