1-37003529 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that her dog was exposed to an insecticidal spot-on product containing the active ingredient phenothrin. The reporter was calling from Canada but the product information provided by the reporter was for a USA registered product. The reporter applied the product to her 2-year-old, 32 pound, female Australian Shepherd one day prior to initial contact with the registrant and at 10pm that night the dog became uncoordinated. The symptoms were still present at the time of the initial call. The reporter was advised to seek immediate veterinary care. On follow-up call, one day later, the reporter stated that she brought her dog to the veterinarian on the morning of initial contact. The veterinarian ran blood work and found that the dog was dehydrated. The dog was treated with intravenous fluids and then sent home that evening. At the time of the follow-up call the dog was at home and still slightly unstable. No further information is available.
