On an unknown date, the dog was able to ingest an unknown amount of the product. At an unknown time after the dog ingested the bait the owner noticed that the dog was vomiting. On November 9, 2013 the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated that the concern was for salivation, lacrimation, urination, defecation, dyspnea, and emesis (SLUDDE) signs, tremors, ataxia, bradycardia, seizures, and death; onset is generally rapid, and if the exposure is not lethal signs are expected to resolve spontaneously due to the reversible nature of carbamate toxicity. The APSS assistant recommended that the owner take the dog to the veterinarian, have the veterinarian call for information, and call back with questions.
