On October 14, 2013 the owner noticed that the cat was symptomatic. Later that evening the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated that the concern with exposure to both of the products was for taste reactions (hypersalivation and vomiting), dermal hypersensitivity reactions (pruritus, behavior changes, and restlessness), and lethargy. The APSS assistant recommended that the owner bathe the cat with liquid dish washing detergent (LDWD) and rinse well, monitor the cat at home, decontaminate the environment, call back with questions, and prevent further exposure to the Premise flea spray product by removing the cat from the area where it was used.
