(p.ex. description des symptômes tels que la fréquence et la gravité
On November 18, 2012 the owner noticed that the cat was drooling. A short time later that day, the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated that labeled use of the product is considered safe and that if the owner applied a fairly strong amount of the spray, there could be some risk of neurologic depression. The APSS veterinarian also stated that if the cat did not show neurologic depression, there should be a minimal risk of developing signs. The APSS technician recommended that the owner monitor the cat at home for central nervous system (CNS) signs such as neurologic depression (ataxia, weakness, and depression); napping would be okay, but the owner should ensure the cat was getting up and walking normally in between naps. The APSS technician also recommended that the owner wipe the cat's coat and skin down with a warm damp washcloth and then gently buff the cat with a dry warm towel to prevent chilling, give 2 to 3 tablespoons (tbsp) of milk in case the cat was having a taste reaction, and take the cat to the veterinarian if any neurologic depression signs were noted.
Mineure
On November 23, 2012 the owner contacted the APSS to update the case. The owner stated that she monitored the cat at home for CNS signs and gave the cat 2 to 3 tbsp of milk, and the cat's drooling ended a short time later on November 18, 2012. The owner stated that the cat never developed any additional signs. The APSS technician recommended that the owner call back with any questions and call her regular veterinarian to discuss flea prevention.
