(p.ex. description des symptômes tels que la fréquence et la gravité
The owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated that tremors and seizures would be expected. The APSS assistant recommended that the owner re-bathe the cat with liquid dish washing detergent, which the owner did during the consultation. The APSS assistant also recommended that the owner provide thermoregulation to keep the cat warm after the bath, monitor the cat for tremors, take the cat to the veterinarian if signs of shaking or tremors developed, have the veterinarian call for information, and call back with questions.
Modérée
The APSS veterinarian stated that the substance was considered to have a medium likelihood of causing the clinical situation. Later in the morning on November 12, 2012 the owner's regular veterinary staff contacted the APSS to update the case. The vet staff stated that the cat began having tremors that day and the owner had taken the cat to the veterinarian as recommended. The APSS veterinarian recommended that the owner's regular veterinarian give the cat methocarbamol, manage the cat's tremors, provide fluid therapy, and provide symptomatic care. On November 14, 2012 an APSS assistant called the owner to update the case. The owner stated that her regular veterinarian had provided fluid therapy to the cat on an unknown date and that the tremors had ended on the afternoon of November 12, 2012. The owner also stated that on the evening of November 12, 2012 the cat developed pruritus at the application site, and the cat was continuing to experience itching where the product had been applied. The APSS assistant recommended that the owner apply vitamin E oil to the application site to help ease the itching. Extra Label use: owner used dog product on cat
