On February 23, 2013 the owner noticed that the dog had an isolated episode of vomiting. Later that evening, the owner bathed the dog with a flea shampoo product and noticed that the dog immediately became depressed and recumbent. On February 24, 2013 the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian said that in this case, the signs could be due to the alcohol in the product or to flea anemia. The APSS veterinarian recommended that the owner take the dog to the veterinarian and have the veterinarian call for information.
