On the evening of August 10, 2013 the owner came home from work and noticed that the dog had vomited and defecated inappropriately. On the morning of August 11, 2013 the owner noticed that the dog was lethargic, anorexic, and adipsic. Later that day the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated that mild gastrointestinal (GI) upset or a bad taste reaction might be seen if the product had been licked from the fur, but signs to the degree the dog was experiencing would not be anticipated, nor would signs with such a delay in onset be anticipated. The APSS assistant recommended that the owner take the dog to the veterinarian and have the veterinarian call for information.

19. Donner des renseignements additionnels ici
The APSS veterinarian stated that the substance was considered to have a doubtful likelihood of causing the clinical situation. On August 13, 2013 an APSS assistant called the owner to update the case. The owner stated that she did not take the dog to the veterinarian and that the dog had died earlier on the morning of August 13, 2013. Dog was never assessed by DVM, was taking unknown antibiotics and apparently died of Parvovirus.
