On August 23, 2012 the owner noticed that the dog was symptomatic. A short time later the owner took the dog to the veterinarian, where a chemistry profile was done and the dog received fluid therapy. Later that afternoon, the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated that the ingredients in the product have a wide margin of safety in dogs and that systemic neurologic signs would not be expected with the use of the product. The APSS veterinarian also stated that dermal reactions could be seen in sensitive individuals. The APSS assistant recommended that the owner have the veterinarian call for information and the APSS veterinarian recommended that the owner call back with questions.
