1-31214944 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that his dog was exposed to an herbicidal product containing the active ingredients 2,4-D, mecoprop and dicamba. The pet owner reported that he applied the product to his lawn about 1.5 weeks prior to initial contact with the registrant and then again 3 days prior to initial contact. The reporter indicated that his 8-year-old, 50 pound female boxer entered the application site after the product had dried. Two days prior to initial contact the dog started vomiting and would not eat and on the day of initial contact the boxer was still suffering from these symptoms. The reporter was advised that the described symptoms are not consistent with exposure to the dried, applied product. It was recommended that he seek veterinary care for appropriate diagnosis and treatment of his pets symptoms. On follow-up call, eight days later, the reporter indicated that he brought his dog to the veterinarian where they ran blood work which showed no abnormalities, the dog was treated with some unknown injectable medication and was sent home on three unknown medications. The dog passed away at home six days after initial contact. No further information is available.
