1-30870773- The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that three of her dogs were exposed to a molluscicide product containing the active ingredient metaldehyde. The pet owner reports her 1-year-old, male mixed breed dog (Subform III 1), her 1-year-old, male Chihuahua (Subform III 2), and her 8-month-old male Chihuahua (Subform III 3) knocked the bag over and ingested the product on the day of initial contact. She reported that the mixed breed dog was tremoring, the 1-year-old Chihuahuas head was shaking and the dog was hopping and the 8-month-old Chihuahuas head was shaking and the dog was tremoring. The pet owner was advised to seek immediate veterinary care. The pet owner was reached for follow up one day later and reported that she did not take her dogs to the veterinarian due to financial concerns and both of the Chihuahuas died at home in the morning, one day after initial contact and the mixed breed dog died that afternoon after having a seizure.
