The pesticide comes in individual containers that you clip and put on dog's back once a month to protect them from flea and tick bites and infestations. Ie is squeezed onto the dog's back in between shoulderblades and it seeps in. After research into this toxic pesticide, I discovered that the EPA has a report of over 44000 incidents of pets having a toxic reaction to chemical flea products. This is low because most people don't report it. It should be mandatory for vets to report it to Health Canada to give a much clearer picture as the vets are very aware of this situation. These chemicals are very poisonous as they are neurotoxins and are toxic to nerve cells and either damage or kill them. That is why a common symptom is seizures and involuntary body movements. I would ask you to please investigate this product and chemical and to have it removed from being sold over the counter. Thank you!!!

Within 3 hours, my bichon frise began running around the house, panting and banging into furniture. Then he started having seizures and muscle spasms that lasted all night and for a total of 3 days before subsiding, this plus the twitching, running around and hitting furniture. The vet recommended Benadryl for the allergy which did not help. There is no antidote other than to wait until it kills the animal or it recovers. Less than 3 hours before symptoms began, I washed it off his body but it had already absorbed into his body. The first time this happened was a year ago with a Hartz product with the same ingredient which was then pulled off the shelf by Pet Value. Unfortunetely it was replaced by another brand with the exact same ingredient and I did not realize it until after the fact.
