1-28167125- The reporter, a pet owner, indicted her animals had been exposed to an insecticidal product containing the active ingredient methoprene. The pet owner indicated she had applied the product to her two cats five days prior to her initial contact with the registrant. She reports one animal, a five year male domestic shorthair cat (Subform III, #1), was found dead the next day with vomit and saliva on his coat. The pet owner had buried the remains. The animal had not seen the veterinarian and no necropsy was performed. The pet owners second animal, a five year twenty pound male domestic shorthair cat (Subform III, #2), was at the time of her natal contact at the veterinarian due to red skin, vocalizing, and acting strange. The pet owner indicated the veterinarian had bathed the animal and placed it on intravenous fluid therapy. No follow up was obtained regarding this report. No further information is available.
