1-23844045- The reporter, a pet owner, indicates her animal had been exposed to an insecticide containing the active ingredients pyrethrins, Piperonyl Butoxide, and N-Octyl Bicycloheptene Dicarboximide. The caller reports she bathed her two dogs with the product five days prior to the initial contact with the registrant. She indicated her fourteen week two pound male Yorkshire Terrier dog (Sub-form III, #1) refused food and water later the same afternoon following. Refusal of food and water persisted through the evening. The caller also commented the animal was lethargic. The animal was found dead in the morning. The caller indicated her fifteen week fourteen pound female Rottweiler dog (Sub form III, #2) similarly refused food and water the afternoon following application. Refusal of food and water persisted through the evening. The caller commented the animal developed lethargy and vomiting at some unspecified point and the next morning developed ataxia and diarrhea. The signs persisted through the weekend until the animal was brought to the veterinarian Monday (three days following application, two days prior to initial contact with the registrant). The animal had a Parvo virus test performed which was negative and was placed on intravenous fluids due to noted dehydration. The animal died the next day. The caller was advised the signs and outcome were inconsistent with use of this product according to the label. The caller was advised of the exceedingly low concentration of the well tolerated active ingredients. The caller was advised of registrant supported necropsy to assist in determining cause of death. The animals had already been buried. No further information is available
