On October 29, 2009 the APSS veterinarian stated that it was doubtful that signs were due to the product, and the cat needed to be evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible and to have the attending veterinarian call for information. On October 30, 2009 the owner called to update the case and reported that the cat had passed. The APSS veterinarian recommended a necropsy, but the body was not viable.

She reported that she had bathed the cat on October 30, 2009 with liquid dish washing soap and on November 3, 2009 the cat died. The owner inquired about necropsy which had been recommended but decided to bury the body rather than pursue a necropsy.
