The APSS veterinarian stated that it was unlikely that the product was the cause of death due to the delay of onset from the time of exposure. If a toxicity had occurred, seizures and tremors would have been expected within 72 hours of exposure. The APSS veterinarian recommended that the pet owner take the cat's body to the veterinarian to submit the body for necropsy and call back with questions.

The APSS veterinarian stated that the substance was considered to have a doubtful likelihood of causing the clinical situation. On September 9, 2009 the APSS technician spoke to a veterinary staff member. A necropsy was strongly recommended and offered but was not possible because the body was not preserved properly and was no longer viable.

The APSS veterinarian stated that it was unlikely that the product was the cause of death due to the delay of onset from the time of exposure. The APSS veterinarian recommended that the pet owner take the cat to the veterinarian, call back with questions, and have the veterinarian call for information. The regular veterinarian contacted the APSS on September 7, 2009. The APSS veterinarian recommended that the regular veterinarian perform a diagnostic evaluation and provide symptomatic care. Later that same evening, the pet owner contacted the APSS to report that the cat died at the clinic. The APSS veterinarian recommended a necropsy.
