(p.ex. description des symptômes tels que la fréquence et la gravité
On July 2, 2008, the animal began to have muscle spasms and became restless, hyperesthetic, hesitant to move, and uncomfortable. The owner bathed the animal on July 3, 2008, with a medicated dog shampoo and again on July 6, 2008, with a dish detergent. On July 7, 2008, the animal became pruritic, and the owner took him to the local veterinary clinic. The attending veterinarian examined the dog, recommended bloodwork be performed, and advised the owner to bathe the dog two more times. The owner bathed the dog two more times when she returned home from the clinic. On July 8, 2008, the animal became anorexic. On July 10, 2008, in the morning, the animal fully recovered from all signs. On the same day, the APSS veterinarian stated that dogs tolerate pyrethroids well, and life threatening signs are not expected with an exposure to this product. Pyrethroids may cause a tingling sensation or hyperesthesia, resulting in reluctance to move, mild tremors, paw shaking, ear twitching, or facial fasciculations. Some dogs may develop erythema and pruritis.
Mineure
The APSS veterinarian stated that this substance was considered to have a high likelihood of causing the clinical situation. A follow up was not deemed necessary, since the animal was no longer showing signs.
