1-16500626: The reporter called on 8/8/2008, to report exposure of her cat to a topical flea and tick product containing the active ingredient Tetrachlorvinphos. According to the reporter, she applied the product to her cat three days prior to the call. This was the first time the reporter had purchased this product. The reported stated that her cat groomed himself often. Post application, the cat went into hiding for two days. When the reporter found the cat, it was in a very weak state. The reporter had planned to seek Veterinary care for the cat, but he died before she could do so. Possible diagnostic testing was discussed with the owner, however, it is unknown if any was completed. No further information was reported.
