1-14080220: The reporter called on 7/11/2008 with new information regarding a case she had initially reported to the registrant in July of 2006. The reporter stated she lives next to a farmer who grows carrots. The farmer uses various herbicides and fungicides on the property and sprays every other day. Per the reporter the products are oversprayed onto her property. Some of the products she mentioned as being used included 3 registrant products with the active ingredients Fluazifop-p-butyl, Mefenoxam, and Chlorothalonil. In addition to the registrant's products, per the reporter the farmer also uses Lorox DF (DuPont, 50% Linuron). According to the reporter, she has lost about 200 free-range chickens in total over the last 2 years (1st subform III). Four died on 7/10 and 12 had died over the previous weekend. The chickens first lost their feathers, and then had developed skin lesions. Per the reporter, hens had then mutilated each other at the sight of the blood from the lesions. The hens had also developed diarrhea, and liver and kidney damage before passing away. The reporter stated she had sent tissue and feather samples to UC (name) but had been told they do not test for herbicides and fungicides. The reporter also wanted to notify the registrant that at some unknown time, her dog had still born puppies as a result of lying in the chemicals (2nd subform III). She has since had the dog spayed.
