On 17-Jul-2023 a veterinary clinic staff member contacted Elanco regarding a possible reaction to K9 advantix II Medium Dog (Permethrin, Imidacloprid, Pyriproxyfen) and Advantage Multi 20 (Imidacloprid, Moxidectin) in a dog. On 01-Jun-2023 and 01-Jul-2023, a dog was administered 1 tube of Advantage Multi 20 (Imidacloprid, Moxidectin) topically by the owner. The dog had previously had the product last year from 01-Jun-2022 to 01-Oct-2022 without reported issue. On 15-Jun-2023 and 15-Jul-2023, the dog was also administered 1 tube of K9 advantix II Medium Dog (Permethrin, Imidacloprid, Pyriproxyfen) topically by the owner.

On 15-Jul-2023, approximately 2 hours post application, the 10-year-old, 7.7 kg, neutered, male, Coton De Tulear dog, in a good condition, with no known concomitant medical conditions, started crying, pacing, scratching, was restless, and twitching. On 16-Jul-2023 the dog started biting at his feet. The owner bathed the dog in a detergent soap. On 17-Jul-2023 the dog was examined by the attending veterinarian. The symptoms described had improved significantly but were still present. The dog was treated with gabapentin and topical vitamin E.
