On 17-May-2023, a pet owner contacted Elanco regarding a possible adverse reaction to K9 advantix II Extra Large Dog (Permethrin, Imidacloprid, Pyriproxyfen) in cat (misuse, this product is not labeled for use in cats). On 16-May-2023 the pet owner applied the product to the cat.

On 16-May-2023, 2 hours after application, the 8 year old, approximately 5.4kg, neutered, male, Domestic Shorthair cat began trembling, was ataxic, and his head was wobbling (coded as head bobbing). On 17-May-2023 the pet owner bathed the cat with dish soap but the signs continued. At the time of the report the cat had not yet been seen by the veterinarian.
