(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms
On 23-Apr-2023, a 5 year old, 18 kilogram, neutered, female, Terrier - Bull - Staffordshire crossbred dog, in unknown condition, with no known concomitant medical condition, was administered 1 tube of Parapet K9 Praventa 360 for Large Dogs 11-25kg (Imidacloprid, Permethrin, Pyriproxyfen) via the topical route by the animal owner. This was a first time use. On 24-Apr-2023, the dog was reactive to touch, walked a few steps arched to the side (abnormal gait) and held her tail to the side. The animal owner bathed the application sites with dish soap and the dog was administered 3 tablespoons of liquid diphenhydramine by the animal owner. Afterwards, the dog rested well. On 25-Apr-2023, the clinical signs continued, and the dog developed an area of red, irritated skin on the left side of the tail near an application site. The dog was bathed twice with dish soap. On approximately 26-Apr-2023, the affected skin area appeared more aggravated post bathing and the dog exhibited persistent licking (pruritus) of the tail area. The dog was administered an unknown amount of Yoba Oil via the topical route by the animal owner, which seemed to provide some relief. The dog had not been evaluated by a veterinarian and no medical treatment had been performed. The clinical signs continued. The animal owner was advised to apply a cool compress and Vitamin E oil to the affected areas. Veterinary evaluation was recommended if clinical signs persisted or worsened. No further information was received in this case.
