On 05 Jan 2022 a pet owner contacted Elanco to report an adverse reaction to K9 advantix II Medium Dog (Permethrin, Imidacloprid, Pyriproxyfen) in a canine/ dog. On an unknown date in Aug-2021, the dog was administered 1 tube of K9 advantix II Medium Dog (Permethrin, Imidacloprid, Pyriproxyfen) topically by the owner. This was the first use of the product.

2 weeks post application, the 13 year old, 11 kg, neutered, female, Cockapoo canine, in unknown condition, with no known concomitant medical conditions, experienced bruising. The following day, the dog was seen by a veterinarian and was found to have a thrombocytopenia. The dog was treated with prednisone. On an unknown date the dog developed unspecified liver and spleen medical conditions. On 28 Dec 2021 the dog was euthanized.
