(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms
Soon after the product was applied, the cat developed symptoms. In the early morning on November 5, 2018, the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS). The APSS veterinarian stated that the risk is for gastrointestinal (GI) upset, and that a taste reaction from an oral exposure may be seen. The APSS assistant recommended the owner monitor at home, monitor for GI signs (vomiting and diarrhea), provide dilution (give 1 teaspoon (tsp) of milk), manage vomiting (nothing by mouth (npo) for 1 hour then gradually reintroduce water and food), wipe off coat/skin (if the cat continuously licks the area), take the animal to a veterinarian (if symptoms are more than mild), and to call back with questions.
