1-49008337 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated her cat was exposed to an insecticidal spot-on product containing the active ingredient (S)-methoprene. Two days before the day of initial contact with the registrant, the reporter indicated she applied the product to her 13-year-old, 14-pound, female, domestic shorthair cat. An unknown amount of time later on the same day, the cat started running around, hiding, vocalizing and then became lethargic. The reporter gave the cat a bath, but the cat developed difficulty breathing then died then passed bloody diarrhea. The reporter was advised that this is not an anticipated reaction to normal product application. The reporter declined a necropsy for the cat. No follow-up was attempted. No additional information is available.
