On an unspecified date in May2016, the dog died. It was unknown if a necropsy was performed. Due to the sensitive nature of the communication, specific
relevant event details were not obtained, nor will such be sought. The reason for the initial phone call was to discuss the use of the product and not to report the death of the patient. No further information is expected. Case is closed.

18. Severity classification (if there is more than 1 possible classification
Death
19. Provide supplemental information here
Death is inconsistent with pharmaco-toxicological product profile and experience. Product has wide margin of safety. The oral LD50 in rat is 642 mg/kg BW. 20-fold overdosage tolerated by dogs without showing any side effect. In case of suspected product involvement, adverse event would have been reported in close proximity and not long time after (1 years). Moreover, the caller contacted Bayer Animal Health to discuss the use of the product and not to report the death of the patient. Time to onset is too long. Even though some information (e.g. health status and necropsy results) is not available, considering the known product profile and serious outcome of the case, a product involvement is deemed to be unlikely.
